African rhythms on bowed stringed instruments: between Brazil, Cape Verde and Mozambique

This paper intersects three different cultures aiming to analyse the rhythm and other musical aspects related to bowed stringed instruments under a post-colonial approach.

Luiz Moretto is a PhD candidate at SPLAS/Kings College London, doing an ethnomusicological research on African-Brazilian music. As a musician he has been collaborating with many artists in live performances and recordings also as a bandleader.
