Monica Vasconcelos

Brazilian singer and journalist Monica Vasconcelos has presented the award winning documentary 'The Secret History of Bossa Nova' on BBC Radio 4 and, earlier this year, also on Radio 4, its follow up, 'Tropicalia: Revolution in Sound'. She has recorded seven albums in the UK. Her musical recipe blending Brazilian music and jazz, new original songs and also timeless classics of Brazil's rich song book. Her albums feature, among other collaborators, Brazilian composer / guitarist Guinga and British rock legend Robert Wyatt. Monica is currently working on her new project, 'The São Paulo Tapes' - an album of Brazilian resistance songs put together with the help of Robert Wyatt.
