3 songs and a melologue for soprano and string orchestra - on Shakespeare sonnets.
Inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnets, these pieces were composed especially for the King’s Shakespeare Festival by renowned Brazilian composer Harry Crowl, one of the most celebrated composers from Brazil today. The sonnets are sung in Portuguese translation.
1.Soneto 14 - Não faço meus julgamentos pelas estrelas (Not from the stars I do my judgement pluck)
2.Soneto 43 - Quanto mais pisco, melhor meus olhos veem (When most I wink, then do mine eyes best see)
3.Soneto 100 - Melólogo (narração) - Musa, onde estás...(Where art thou, Muse...)
4.Soneto 87 - Adeus! És muito cara para que te tenha (Farewell! Thou art too dear for my possessing)
The compositions will be premiered by Gabriella di Laccio (soprano) and Kings Brazil Ensemble, directed by Dr. Vinicius Mariano de Carvalho (King’s Brazil Institute).
